Get lost in the progressive, experimental, rock offerings of Kayo Dot on Saturday, Jan. 27 at DC9. The bandās sound is a mixture of black metal, post metal and chamber music. Formed in Boston in 2003, the Kayo Dot has released nine studio albums. Their latest effort, 2016ās āPlastic House on Base of Sky.ā contains wide open ethereal chords well matched with spaced out vocals and guitars. $12. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Founded in 1991, the band incorporates characteristics from a variety of musical influences in order to explore sounds and textures created by multiple electric guitars. Check out the heavy guitar sounds of garage/alternate rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) this Monday, Jan. 29 at the 9:30 Club. Formed in San Francisco in 1998, the trio has been churning out raw, dark and ragged sounds influenced by classic and psychedelic rock.
Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, BRMCās eighth studio album, āWrong Creatures,ā takes on a more atmospheric approach. but still has the elements that makes this band worth checking out. $26.00 ā Doors at 7 p.m.
