Have a Ball at Citi Taste of Tennis Sunday

Foodies and tennis fans are invited to an evening of incredible cuisine prepared by top local chefs and “served” by some of the top pro tennis players starting at 7 p.m. July 30 at La Vie (88 District Sq. SW).

Guests enjoy an evening sampling fine food, sipping signature cocktails, and mingling with their favorite tennis players. It’s the Official Player Party of the Mubadala Citi D.C. Open, returns to the Nation’s Capital.

It’s bound to be an unforgettable evening of amazing cuisine prepared by some of DC finest chefs in a beautiful setting: La Vie Restaurant on the Southwest Waterfront – The Wharf. There will be live performances and dancing all night.

Tennis Channel’s Nick Monroe will host the event and Chef Kevin Tien will serve as the headline Chef. Nick and Kevin will be ed by a number of special guest players who will participate in an exciting cooking demonstration on the main stage.

A wide array of cuisine will be available from Citi Taste of Tennis’ all-star lineup of acclaimed chefs. Besides Tien (Moon Rabbit), they include Bader Ali (Gerrard Street Kitchen), Patrice Cleary (Purple Patch), Alessandra Begggiato (Dolci Gelati), Jassi Bindra (Amrina The Woodlands), John Mooney (Bidwell), Scheyla Acosta and Chef Mac and Chef Pinke (Flavorture).

It’s all part of Citi DC Open, held July 29 to August 6 at Fitzgerald Tennis Court (4850 Colorado Ave NW). With 11 different sessions, catch some of the biggest names in professional tennis at the world’s only combined ATP-WTA 500 level event, with the likes of Andy Murray, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Nick Kyrgios and DC native s Tiafo battling it out on the court.

Additionally, the Mubadala Citi DC Open invites children of all ages to an Open Kids’ Day at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29th. Budding tennis players can get their first taste of a professional tournament, enjoying a full day of thrilling activities alongside ATP and WTA tennis professionals, learning and enjoying the great game of tennis, surrounded by thousands of fans! The fun continues with face painting, temporary tattoos and more!
