Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Sexual Assault Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside of the Hopkins Apartments (1430 L Street SE).
On Monday, April 1, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m. the suspect entered the building. He forced the victim at knifepoint to engage in an unwanted sexual act. The suspect then fled the scene.

MPD Searching for Vehicle in Northeast Armed Robbery
The MPD First District Detectives Unit are seeking the community’s help to locate a vehicle involved in an armed robbery.
On Wednesday, April 3, at around 12:35 a.m., the victim was biking home in the 300 block of E Street NE, when a black SUV pulled up beside him. The suspect in the enger seat exited the vehicle and demanded the victim’s property. The driver pointed a gun at the victim, who complied. The suspects drove off with the victim’s property.
The suspect’s vehicle was captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photo.
