Police Arrest Man in Eastern Market CVS Theft

A man was arrested for stealing at the CVS near Eastern Market after police watched him take something off the shelf Wednesday morning and leave without paying.

At around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, officers arrested a 28-year-old Southeast man and charged him with Theft Two.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) First and Second Districts said that after investigation, the man was also charged with five thefts from Sephora Stores, including at both the Connecticut Avenue NW location and at the Eastern Market store. Police say he stole from the Eastern Market Sephora on at least three different times —on April 8th, 10th and 11th.

These cases remain under investigation. Anyone who has any information about these incidents should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s Text Tip Line at 50411.

MPD offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
