Celebrate Eastern Market’s Second Life At Night of the Phoenix

Come us at Eastern Market for a family-friendly night to !

Strength in Neighbor’s Weekend begins with a bang at the Night of the Phoenix event Friday, June 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Eastern Market (225 Seventh St. SE), both outside and in!

Get ready for live music by Rock Creek Kings, delicious food from local vendors, an evening artisan market and a vibrant atmosphere that will ignite your senses. Alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase with ID.

15 years ago, Eastern Market suffered a devastating early morning fire.  The blaze started in the early morning hours of April 30, 2007 and caused the heaviest damage in the South Hall, which houses the fresh food merchants. After two years of extensive renovation, the ribbon was cut to reopen the building on June 26, 2009.

Today, from hard-to-find pastas, local and international cheeses to exquisite jewelry and art, Eastern Market provides an inviting, fun experience for all ages.

Celebrate throughout the weekend of June 22 and 23! Eastern Market Main Street (EMMS) is commemorating the anniversary of Eastern Market’s grand reopening after the 2007 fire, and celebrating the strength and resilience of the wonderful community that pulled together to make it happen. There will be live music, shopping, walking tours, giant games, arts and crafts from local creators, a family-friendly scavenger hunt and more.

And, thanks to a grant from EventsDC, EMMS is now able to make this a free event to all! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate community and connection in the heart of the city. See you there!
