Congressional Women’s Softball at Watkins ES Wednesday

What’s going on at Watkins? It’s the Congressional Women’s Softball Game, happening Wednesday, June 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Watkins Recreational Field at Watkins Elementary (420 12th St. SE).

Every year since 2010, players from Congress face off against of the press in a charity game. Players include Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL-25) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) facing Tamara Keith of NPR and CNN’s Katie Lobosco.

Proceeds from the Congressional Women’s Softball Game benefit Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young adults who are diagnosed with breast cancer. The Congressional Women’s Softball Game has raised more than $3.7M for YSC since the Game began and has become a staple of Capitol Hill summer activities.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased prior to the game here. Concessions, including hot dogs, pulled pork, Pepsi products and frozen treats are available. Children 5 years old and younger enter free.
