Start planning your potluck dish for the Ward 6 Block Party!
As a way to highlight his proposal to make it easier for neighbors to close a street to let kids have more play space, Councilmember Charles Allen (Ward 6-D) is closing down 13th Street SE between K and L Street Sunday, July 28th for a neighborhood fam-jam.
The plan is to bring out some games, and have a good old fashioned neighborhood block party. Food is pot luck since Council are barred by law from spending money on food.
The space will be open neighbors to gather and kids to play. Planning is ongoing but could include a drum performance and a children’s parade.
Neighbors from across Ward 6 are welcome to come out and play! The party is the final event of Ward 6 Week, with events every day to celebrate what makes our neighborhood awesome.
The party is on from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, on 13th Street between K and L Streets SE. RSVP or get more info at http://www.charlesallenward6.com/w6w2019_block_party.
