Arrest in Northeast Homicide

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch announce the arrest of a man who shot and killed another man this past weekend.

On Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at around 3 a.m., officers went to the 1600 block of Rosedale Street NE after getting reports of a shooting. When they got there, they found an adult male shooting victim inside of a residence.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Darius Robinson, of Northwest, DC.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. The police investigation suggests the victim and suspect were known to each other. Officers quickly located him.

As a result of the detectives’ investigation, a 25-year-old man of Clinton, MD, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
