Bullets flew near The Roost food hall (1401 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) on Thursday night, injuring one person and hitting the building itself.
Police say that the shooting started at around 8:50 p.m. April 17 near the intersection of Potomac Ave and Pennsylvania Ave SE. A man was found nearby suffering from what police say is likely a graze wound to the back of his neck. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
One round went through a window at The Roost and was stopped in a wall. Another round struck a window frame in a second story apartment in the same building. Fortunately, police told ANC Commissioners that there were no injuries reported by patrons or residents at the building.
