That will mean traffic closures in the District between 23rd and Seventh Streets, both NW and SW and between and F Street NW to C Street SW.
It will also affect any trips to and from Arlington, VA starting Wednesday, June 11. That’s because the Pentagon’s North Parking Lot is serving as a staging area, with military vehicles set to start there and go to the starting point of the parade in DC via Memorial Bridge.
The right lane of Route 27/Washington Boulevard towards DC will close in both directions between US-50 and Pentagon North Parking at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. All lanes of Route 27/Washington Boulevard will be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 13 through Saturday, June 14 at 10 p.m. The Arlington Memorial Bridge will be closed from midnight Friday morning to Monday morning at 6 a.m. Many expressways and exits are also closed.
Roads will be closed in the District between 6 a.m. Thursday, June 12 and the same time Monday, June 16.
The closures could also affect delivery services, especially those operating from warehouses outside the District but including food and grocery.
Waterway Restrictions
A temporary security zone in accordance with CFR 33 Part 165.508 Security Zone; Potomac River and Anacostia River, and adjacent waters; Washington, D.C. has been established upon the waters of the Potomac River, within an area encoming all waters from the 14th Street Bridge to the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and the Tidal Basin. The Washington Channel will remain open to all vessel traffic. The Security Zone will be established from June 13, 2025, at 2 PM until June 14, 2025, at 10 PM.
From 2 PM on June 13, 2025, to 1 PM on June 14, 2025, if law enforcement vessels are present, mariners may need to seek permission to enter the zone by ing the Captain of the Port via VHF-marine band radio channel 16 (156.8 MHz) or by telephone number (410) 576-2693. On June 14, 2025, from 1 PM until 10PM, no persons or vessels will be cleared to operate within or in the immediate vicinity of this zone. The U.S. Coast Guard may be assisted in the patrol and enforcement of the zone by federal, state, and local agencies.
Mariners are encouraged to read and thoroughly understand the boundaries and procedures of the security zone found in the Code of Federal Regulations.
Reagan National Airport
To accommodate aircraft flyovers along the parade route, followed by a fireworks display, the Federal Aviation istration is expected to suspend airline operations at DCA – affecting scheduled flights.
