Murder Saturday in Northeast

At around 1:00 in the morning Saturday April 7th, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District officers responded to reports of gunshots on the 700 block of 24th Street NE and the 800 block of 21st Street NE.

Canvassing the neighborhood, officers located a victim lying face down in front of a residence on the 800 block of 21st Street NE. He suffered one gunshot wound to the head and was found unconscious but still breathing.

DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene. The victim was transported to local hospital, but was pronounced dead at 1:41 a.m.

He has been identified as Adrian Terrence Gay of Washington DC.

MPD offers up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any unsolved homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
